Chapter Twelve
Morning came too early. Molly figured waking up to a hot man kissing her neck made it worth it, however. âThat tickles,â she said, rolling onto her back so she could kiss Grey properly.
âShower time.â His voice was a deep growl that made her shiver in anticipation.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. âWhat a great idea. Letâs go.â
He whispered into her ear, âWe canât. If I go in that shower with you, weâll be in there until the hot water runs out, because Iâll want to take my time with you.â He opened his mouth over her neck and gripped her with his teeth, his tongue lashing her tender skin. âI want to make you forget all the languages you know except one.â
She didnât want to know. She shouldnât want to know. âWhich one?â
He put his hand on her neck and slowly dragged it down her body until he curved it around her buttocks, then dipped his fingers into the entrance of her sex. âThis one,â he whispered, rimming her with those fingers, teasing her until she couldnât keep still anymore.
âPlease?â she begged.
âDamn.â He shuddered above her and rested his forehead on her shoulder. âIâwe should really get going.â He kissed her again, then pulled away and went into the bathroom.
The shower came on, and Molly stared at the stuccoed ceiling, need rolling like a cold front through her body. Followed immediately by anger, rejection, irritation, desire, hope, resignationâshe was a riot of emotion.
She couldnât decide if making love to Grey was the best or the worst decision of her life.
â¦
Molly came out of the bathroom like a different woman. Grey looked her over and had to control his first instinct, which was to kiss her and take her clothes off again. Her hair was in a sleek, simple ponytail. She wore the leggings heâd bought her the night before and her sparkly shirt. He had an irrational need to wrap her in cotton and hide her away from anyone who might hurt her.
But getting her a new shirt would have to do. Why didnât he think of that last night, when he bought her the leggings? Hell. Sometimes he could be such a man. In other words, clueless. âHow about I get you a clean shirt?â he asked.
âThat would be wonderful.â Her smile was all relief. âIâm afraid this one has had it.â
âIâll be back in a few minutes.â
He headed over to the store, where he found a small selection of T-shirts on a rack right next to where heâd found the leggings. He picked a small size in a soft blue and paid for it. He was on his way back to their room when his cell phone vibrated.
âGrey. What the fuck is going on?â Mikeâs voice boomed out of the phone. âI just got a call from a detective in Vegas asking me if I know where my sister is. Thereâs a warrant out for her arrest.â
Grey stopped dead. âDetails.â
âSome truck driver was found murdered at a truck stop early this morning.
